Antonio Luca Alfeo was an Assistant Professor of the Department of Information Engineering, University of Pisa (Machine Learning and Process Intelligence research group).
His research interest addresses Human-centered, Evaluative and Explainable Artificial Intelligence and Deep Representation Learning.
In 2024 he has been awarded with the Italian National Scientific Qualification (ASN) as Associate Professor of Information Processing Systems (s.c. 09/H1) and now he works as an associate professor for another University. Nevertheless, collaboration with Unipi continues thanks to fruitful joint research initiatives and shared interests. From 2022, he collaborate with different EU and national research projects. From 2019 to 2021, he has been involved in different research collaborations in the field of Industry 4.0, specifically related to the optimization of maintenance processes by using deep learning approaches. In 2019, he graduated with the International Ph.D. Program in Smart Computing (University of Pisa, Florence and Siena). In 2018 he worked on different solutions based on Swarm Intelligence to analyze collective behaviors in Smart Cities with Professor Alex ‘Sandy’ Pentland as a visiting research fellow at the M.I.T. Media Lab.
